Michael is an international athlete, writer and speaker with a background in business. He is the founder of ground-breaking ultrarunning team Hour 7. He is the author of the bestselling book 'One Track Mind'.
Michael ran 155 miles (250km) in 24 hours around an athletics track at a race in London. On the strength of that performance, he was selected to run for Great Britain at the 24-Hour World Championships in Albi, France. At 50, he was the oldest athlete to make their debut for Great Britain in the modern era.
Michael reached an elite level in sport after a successful career in business, which gives him a rare perspective. He has founded a number of technology businesses, and before that he was chairman of the GSMA, the global trade organisation for the mobile telephony industry, with members in over a hundred countries. He began his working life in corporate law, becoming head legal counsel of a multibillion-dollar group of companies.
